Canada’s multiculturalisme: op een bijeenkomst van Iraans-Canadese burgers verschijnen alleen Iraanse en blanke Canadezen, op een bijeenkomst van Tamil Canadezen alleen Tamil en blanke Canadezen et cetera. De Pakistaans-Canadese televisiemaker Tarek Fatah kaart de kwestie aan in een artikel Multiculturalism: The Ghettoization of Ethnic minorities op het webforum Muslim Wake Up!:

“This strange relationship of Canada’s ethnics with the dominant community,raises the question: Is this segregation a legacy of our colonial past, the rise of identity poltics, or the direct result of institutional multiculturalism? Why is it that whenever the Chinese or Pakistani or any other ethnic minority organizes events, the only other community invited to participate is the dominant white community?
